About Manjri Madhubani Arts, Haryana
Manjri Madhubani Arts
Award-winning Madhubani painter Manjri Das established her own banner, ‘Manjri Madhubani Arts’ in 1995. An ardent devotee of Krishna, Manjri has been combining her passion for painting and her love for the deity to paint tales of the dark-complexioned god, from an early age. Her style of choice was Madhubani, which she continues to execute with brush and pen nib.
What started purely as passion soon grew into a business idea after people started to notice her talent and recognise her skills. Having grown up in Bihar, she took to the regional art of Madhubani painting easily, though her skills were further honed with a year-long training at an art school in her state during her youth.
Manjri started with painting on paper, slowly moving on to cloth and canvas. She also paints on walls to stunning effect. Her skills have been recognised even in her adopted state of Haryana, where she moved after her marriage. Recipient of Haryana State Award in 2008 and 2010, Manjri innovates constantly, churning out paintings on a wide range of subjects and media under her banner today.
Manjri Madhubani Arts has grown from strength to strength since its inception, the wide range of its products much in demand today in India as well as abroad. While Manjri stays true to her art, using only natural, organic colours to execute the paintings, her designs are replicated on sarees, dupattas (scarves), furnishings and other different articles under her banner. Manjri continues to offer Madhubani paintings on paper and cloth, taking about one week to execute the former and about 15 days to complete a cloth painting.
