About Vivek A Vyas, Bhuj

Painting the Essence of Reality

For software engineer Vivek A Vyas, feelings find expression through painting. A sensitive person by nature, this 32-year-old successful businessman and owner of an RO filter plant, has always been fond of this art form. The creative artist initially gifted his paintings to friends and family who appreciated his style and encouraged him. In 2006, after receiving formal training, Vyas started pursuing his hobby more professionally. This talented painter uses water and ink colours as preferred mediums for giving form to his innermost thoughts. In the end, what appears in his paintings is his deep understanding of human thoughts and emotions.

Like his inspiration, Krishen Khanna, Vyas also takes to figurative art in order to depict real life incidents and scenes. He uses water colours and occasionally oil paints to showcase life vividly. Vyas also uses the online platform to connect with his fans. Depending on the nature of his paintings, this artist from Gujarat takes about one to 15 days to create his masterpieces.

Specialities

Vyas is known for his thought-provoking paintings that reflect his various ideas, moods and emotions. His beautiful colour combinations are widely recognised and his body of work enjoys a faithful following. The artist plans to dabble in acrylic medium soon. By sensitising his audience to their surroundings, Vyas achieves what many budding artists aspire to — capturing the honest beauty of everyday life.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In Vivek Arts Woman With Thought, painted in 2014, the artist has portrayed a woman deep in thought. This watercolour painting seizes the imagination as we do not know what is on her mind. The uniqueness of this art lies in the intense expression on the subject’s face captured beautifully using watercolours. Water-based pigments were used in prehistoric cave paintings. Centuries ago, the Chinese painted on silk with water-based inks and dyes. In the Western world, watercolours evolved from illuminated manuscripts in the monasteries of medieval Europe. Water-soluble materials used on vellum or paper defined the art form for most contemporary watercolour artists.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Fond of painting since childhood, Vivek A Vyas, 32, picked up brushes and colours seriously in 2006. A qualified software engineer who owns an RO filter plant, Vyas gives expressions to his various moods through his paintings.
