About Vinod Sharma, Ahmedabad

Emotions have a new language

Having started painting professionally in 2011, Vinod Sharma is fast becoming a sought after artist in India. After successfully appearing in Gujarat Drawing Board Examination, Sharma started showcasing his childhood passion for painting. The initial landscape paintings and pencil sketches were widely appreciated, which encouraged the artist to experiment with other mediums. This Gujarat based painter takes a few hours to a month to complete a painting depending on the subject and the medium. Sharma is equally comfortable with acrylic, watercolours, dry pastels, oil pastels, ink colour, and lead pencil. This versatility allows him to give exact voice to his innermost thoughts.

Specialities

This highly talented artist is extremely choosy about the subject of each painting. Usage of uncommon mediums such as charcoal makes his work special. The entire painting is done to match its theme in the best possible way. Beautiful colour combinations, unique themes, and creativity make each artwork special, accounting for the wide recognition and faithful following.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The golden mane and the royal attitude of the king of animals, lion, have always fascinated painters. Vinod Art The King, a portrait of a lion, was completed in 24 hours by Vinod Sharma. The brilliant artwork, painted in 2013, depicts the head of a full gown male lion. The colour selection and apt brush strokes have given a royal mood to this acrylic painting. Polymer-based acrylic entered the market as house paint, but its many benefits brought it to the attention of painters. By the 1950s, artists began using quick-drying acrylic to avoid oil paint’s considerable drying time. These artists found that the synthetic paint was very versatile and possessed much potential. As time passed, manufacturers improved methods by formulating artistic acrylic paints with richer pigments. Although it has proven versatile in artistic endeavours, acrylic as a medium is still in its infancy.
