About Vinod Sharma, Ahmedabad

Emotions have a new language

Having started painting professionally in 2011, Vinod Sharma is fast becoming a sought after artist in India. After successfully appearing in Gujarat Drawing Board Examination, Sharma started showcasing his childhood passion for painting. The initial landscape paintings and pencil sketches were widely appreciated, which encouraged the artist to experiment with other mediums. This Gujarat based painter takes a few hours to a month to complete a painting depending on the subject and the medium. Sharma is equally comfortable with acrylic, watercolours, dry pastels, oil pastels, ink colour, and lead pencil. This versatility allows him to give exact voice to his innermost thoughts.

Specialities

This highly talented artist is extremely choosy about the subject of each painting. Usage of uncommon mediums such as charcoal makes his work special. The entire painting is done to match its theme in the best possible way. Beautiful colour combinations, unique themes, and creativity make each artwork special, accounting for the wide recognition and faithful following.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Vinod Art Bazaar, painted in 2014, was completed in three hours by Vinod Sharma. This artwork shows a normal scene of an Indian market. Excellent usage of dry pastel colours has given the painting a real-life feel. The interesting relationship between buyers and sellers has been portrayed brilliantly. Visual art has been classified in diverse ways, from the medieval distinction between liberal arts and mechanical arts, to the modern distinction between fine arts and applied arts, or to the many contemporary definitions, which define art as a manifestation of human creativity. The colour pigments used in pastels are mixed with a binder that has a neutral hue and low saturation. The colour effect of pastels is closest to the natural dry pigments. Pastels gained considerable popularity in the 18th century, when a number of notable artists made pastel their primary medium. An artwork made using pastels is called a pastel (or a pastel drawing or pastel painting).

ABOUT THE ARTIST
