The long and fruitful journey of Sukhadia Garbaddas Bapuji (SGB) began five decades ago in Gujarat. With humble beginnings at Nadiad, this family business eventually moved to Anand and bore its roots there. Their first shop opened at Tower Bazaar in 1964. With a line of high-quality ethically and traditionally prepared namkeen and sweets they quickly became a popular household name and official tea partner of East India Company. The legacy and dream of the late Sukhadia Garbaddas Bapuji live on. Bharat bhai Sukhadia, the fourth generation, currently leads this ambitious enterprise. With a production capacity of 1,500 kg a day, it has two more outlets at Anand and one at Ahmedabad International Airport.

Despite their many successes, they do not believe in resting on past laurels but continue to build upon their strong foundation. They constantly innovate and reinvent themselves in order to deliver unrivalled taste and quality. For the past 51 years (and counting), SGB has offered its customers high-quality products prepared in-house in a clean and hygienic environment. Instant Khasta Kachori

Fill it, shut it, fry it! You can now make fresh and crispy kachori (puri stuffed with spiced lentils) in a jiffy. Well, almost. SukhadiaGarbaddasBapuji Special Chana Dal makes for a delicious instant filling that requires only some seasoning before it’s ready to go into the dough. Use the same filling to make dal puri and serve it with kheer (milk-rice dessert). This is a delicious must-have combination on Ram Navami in North India. 

Ingredients:-

SukhadiaGarbaddasBapuji  SpecialChana Dal – 1 cup

Garlic – 5-6 cloves

Coriander seeds – 1tsp

Fennel seeds – 1 tsp

Asafoetida –  1tsp

Flour – 2 cups

Oil – 4 tsp

Refined flour – 2 cups

Salt – ½ tsp


Preparation:-

  • Grind SukhadiaGarbaddasBapuji  SpecialChana Dal to a coarse powder along with garlic cloves
  • Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan; add coriander seeds, fennel seeds, and astafoedia
  • Remove the seasoning from heat as soon as you get an aroma
  • Add the seasoning to the chana dal-garlic mix
  • Prepare slightly hard dough using refined flour, water, oil, and salt
  • Make small balls of the dough
  • Use the palms to slightly flatten the balls
  • Fill the centre of each disc with chana dal-garlic mix
  • Carefully bring the edges to the centre and seal the disc by pressing with the thumb. The sealed disc will resemble a pouch
  • Deep-fry the filled discs and serve hot
