The long and fruitful journey of Sukhadia Garbaddas Bapuji (SGB) began five decades ago in Gujarat. With humble beginnings at Nadiad, this family business eventually moved to Anand and bore its roots there. Their first shop opened at Tower Bazaar in 1964. With a line of high-quality ethically and traditionally prepared namkeen and sweets they quickly became a popular household name and official tea partner of East India Company. The legacy and dream of the late Sukhadia Garbaddas Bapuji live on. Bharat bhai Sukhadia, the fourth generation, currently leads this ambitious enterprise. With a production capacity of 1,500 kg a day, it has two more outlets at Anand and one at Ahmedabad International Airport.

Despite their many successes, they do not believe in resting on past laurels but continue to build upon their strong foundation. They constantly innovate and reinvent themselves in order to deliver unrivalled taste and quality. For the past 51 years (and counting), SGB has offered its customers high-quality products prepared in-house in a clean and hygienic environment. Its products, in addition to reaching Indian households and corporates, are also exported to London, America, and Australia. Today SGB’s offerings include chavanu (spicy mixture of cornflakes, rice flakes, lentils, etc), bhakharwadi (savoury, crispy rolls), chevdo (Bombay mix), farali chevdo (potato crisps with nuts), mawa (dried whole milk) sweets, sugarless sweets, dry-fruit sweets, chikki (brittle), Bengali sweets, shrikhand (dessert made with strained yoghurt), halwasan (sweet made with milk and wheat germ/semolina), and sutarfeni (sweet, flaky, shredded rice dough with almonds and pista). The brand believes in innovation and its research and development department constantly brings forth new ideas for products. First prepared in the Mysore palace, hence also called Mysore pak, this scrumptious delicacy is considered ‘the king of sweets’ in the South and rules the hearts of millions across the globe. Mysore Pak Mango Cheese Cake

A cheesecake so yummy, even New Yorkers will lick their fingers.This fusion cheesecake is perfect for those days when you can’t decide between traditional Indian dessert and a slice of decadent cheesecake.If the very thought of throwing away left over pieces of sweets such as Mysore pak makes you cringe, this recipe comes to your rescue.

Ingredients:-

  • Mysore pak- 250 g
  • Mango puree- from 4-5 mangoes
  • Mango cubes- from 1 mango
  • Gelatine/agar agar- 2 tbsp
  • Cream cheese or cottage cheese- 1 packet
  • Amul cream- 1 packet
  • Mango essence- if required
  • Powdered sugar- 1 cup 

Preparation:-

  • Chill the Amul cream overnight and bring it out just before the preparation
  • Crumble the Mysore pak like breadcrumbs
  • Spread the crumbs in a spring tin and press firmly to form a compact and even layer
  • Strain the pureed mangoes to remove fibre
  • In a separate bowl, combine the strained puree and cream cheese
  • Whip the cream with powdered sugar to form stiff peaks
  • Combine the mango puree with the whipped cream
  • Add the mango cubes
  • Dissolve the gelatine or agar agar in a small bowl of hot water
  • Once the gelatine is dissolved, fold it gently into the cream cheese mixture
  • Transfer it to the spring tin
  • Refrigerate for 24 hours
