About Sukhadia Garbaddas Bapuji, Anand

The Revered House of Sweets & Savouries

The long and fruitful journey of Sukhadia Garbaddas Bapuji (SGB) began five decades ago in Gujarat. With humble beginnings at Nadiad, this family business eventually moved to Anand and bore its roots there. Their first shop opened at Tower Bazaar in 1964. With a line of high-quality ethically and traditionally prepared namkeen and sweets they quickly became a popular household name and official tea partner of East India Company. The legacy and dream of the late Sukhadia Garbaddas Bapuji live on. Bharat bhai Sukhadia, the fourth generation, currently leads this ambitious enterprise. With a production capacity of 1,500 kg a day, it has two more outlets at Anand and one at Ahmedabad International Airport.

Despite their many successes, they do not believe in resting on past laurels but continue to build upon their strong foundation. They constantly innovate and reinvent themselves in order to deliver unrivalled taste and quality. For the past 51 years (and counting), SGB has offered its customers high-quality products prepared in-house in a clean and hygienic environment. Its products, in addition to reaching Indian households and corporates, are also exported to London, America, and Australia. With over 100 varieties of purely vegetarian sweets and savouries containing no artificial flavours or preservatives, it now looks forward to becoming a premium international brand that is truly Indian at heart.

Specialities

Today SGB’s offerings include chavanu (spicy mixture of cornflakes, rice flakes, lentils, etc), bhakharwadi (savoury, crispy rolls), chevdo (Bombay mix), farali chevdo (potato crisps with nuts), mawa (dried whole milk) sweets, sugarless sweets, dry-fruit sweets, chikki (brittle), Bengali sweets, shrikhand (dessert made with strained yoghurt), halwasan (sweet made with milk and wheat germ/semolina), and sutarfeni (sweet, flaky, shredded rice dough with almonds and pista). The brand believes in innovation and its research and development department constantly brings forth new ideas for products. Quality offerings – produced in a moisture-free, hygienic atmosphere and packed to perfection – ensure SGB continues to enjoy a huge following.
