PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Now store your tilak in the stylish and traditional Shiva Arts Chopra Ganesha. The almond-shaped chopra or kumkum container is adorned with a colourful peacock’s head skilfully handcrafted out of marble by Jaipuri artisans. The article has a meenakari Ganesha design embellished with kundan work on its lid. Its bright, attractive colours and rich, traditional design make it suitable to be used on special occasions such as Diwali and weddings. Kumkum is used extensively in the Hindu culture as part of different religious rituals. Applying tilak is considered an essential part of these rituals. Different communities in India have different ways of applying the tilak, but a common way is to apply some kumkum on the forehead between the eyebrows with an upward stroke made using the tip of the right hand’s thumb. A few grains of uncooked rice are also applied on the kumkum mark.
