About Sangam Sweets, Bangalore

A wonderful confluence of taste and variety

The year was 1964. Haresh Sukhadia, a Kutch native with immense expertise in confectionery left for Bangalore to start his own venture. And thus Sangam Sweets was born. Initially, he only offered Gujarati sweets and savouries, which were met with great response from city-dwellers.

As its popularity soared, the store started offering a beautiful amalgamation of specialities from different cuisines such as Bengali, Gujarati, and Rajasthani. This authentic taste became their trademark. The brand still keeps innovating new recipes and flavours and customers are assured of the best quality products, great service, and perfect hygiene.

Today, under the ownership of Sukhadia’s son Deepesh, the ever-growing enterprise continues to use the same traditional recipes, but with modern semi-automatic techniques for production and boasts a capacity of 500 kg per day.

Sangam Sweets has expanded to various locations such as Gandhinagar, Koramangla, Sadashivnagar, and also at various departmental stores.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Gathiya, also called ghati, is a famous Gujarati snack now popular in other Indian states as well.  Made with gram flour, the dough is moulded into thin strips and deep-fried. The resultant product is a crunchy savoury which goes well with a hot cup of tea or coffee. Garlic gathiya is a spicier version deliciously flavoured with garlic. It can be enjoyed as a standalone snack but tastes best with deep-fried chillies, carrot shreds, salad, and a dollop of mango pickle. Tomato sev curry

Tomato sev curry is an interesting side dish. Prepare the gravy in advance and add Sangam Sweets Garlic Gathiya minutes before serving it. • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Green chillies – 1-2
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp red
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

Preparation:-

  • Heat oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds along with curry leaves
  • Add crushed garlic and sauté until light brown
  • Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and salt
  • Cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy
  • Add chopped coriander leaves and sugar
  • Saute for 5 minutes; add water and bring it to boil
  • Add Sangam Sweets Garlic Gathiya and cook for 1-2 minutes
  • Serve immediately
