About Ritz Art World, Mumbai

An artistic labour of love

Ritz Art World is the culmination of creator Ritika Shekhawat's dreams. A lover of nature, she is an artist in the truest sense of the word. Her craft is her passion, an inspiration to live. It gives her new horizons and freedom to explore her imagination.

A gifted girl since childhood, her world revolved around art. She made her first oil painting at the tender age of 12 and was lauded by those who saw her piece of art. She, however, could not pursue her interest then due to certain circumstances. But as it is said that you sooner or later come back to what you love the most, art also beckoned Ritika after 23 years. She started painting again - firstly, to release the agony and stress of the onslaught from her chronic ailments and secondly, to derive a healing touch and hope.

Her dream project Ritz Art World was established in November 2014 and has already garnered a lot of appreciation from everyone.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Inspired by Egyptian wall painting, this mixed-media artwork on canvas by Ritika Shekhawat easily lends your living room or office space a regal look that is as grand as charming. Portraying an Egyptian king, the relief painting with acrylic puttyand acrylic and oil colours snugly sits inside a fibre frame. The subject is considered auspicious and thus the painting is a good gift for occasions such as house-warmings and weddings.

Through this endeavour, the artist brings alive the ancient art of Egypt that flourished in the lower Nile valley between 3000 BC and 100 AD. Apart from the subject, the artist has also drawn inspiration from the use of mixed media in  drawings on papyrus, wood, and stone.

Egyptian tombs and monuments are a good reference for this art form, which laid a lot of importance on afterlife. The elements used in it also throw light on the society, economy, and belief systems of that era.
