About Ritz Art World, Mumbai

An artistic labour of love

Ritz Art World is the culmination of creator Ritika Shekhawat's dreams. A lover of nature, she is an artist in the truest sense of the word. Her craft is her passion, an inspiration to live. It gives her new horizons and freedom to explore her imagination.

A gifted girl since childhood, her world revolved around art. She made her first oil painting at the tender age of 12 and was lauded by those who saw her piece of art. She, however, could not pursue her interest then due to certain circumstances. But as it is said that you sooner or later come back to what you love the most, art also beckoned Ritika after 23 years. She started painting again - firstly, to release the agony and stress of the onslaught from her chronic ailments and secondly, to derive a healing touch and hope.

Her dream project Ritz Art World was established in November 2014 and has already garnered a lot of appreciation from everyone.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Bani Thani is one of the most famous Kishangarh paintings. It is believed to be based on the charm and allure of Bani Thani – a great singer and poet in the time of king Savant Singh (1748–1764) – often called India's Mona Lisa.

Artist Ritika Shekhawat has used mixed media such as acrylic putty, acrylic and oil colours on canvas to capture the exquisite beauty of a Rajput princess. The subject is seen in all her finery and looks quite delicate as she looks at a pigeon lovingly. Each feature and nuance of the figure is intricately etched and speaks of an unmatched expertise.

This painting is a tribute to legendary award-winning artist Bhanwarlal Girdharilal Sharma from Rajasthan.  He is famous for his miniature devotional paintings and his rejuvenation and popularization of classic Rajasthan art, including Mughal, Kishangarh, and Kangra styles.
