About Marathe Milk Products, Karnataka
Quality in Simplicity
Situated at Mala, a village in Karkala (Udupi, Karnataka), Marathe Milk Products is a paradise for travellers who come visiting this part of India. The small-scale sweet shop, next to the Kudremukh National Forest, was started by M Govinda Marathe in 1990. It offers some of the tastiest local delicacies — simple, quality products made using pure, unadulterated ingredients. The proprietor ventured into this line of work when he suffered losses in the dairy business. Not one to give up easily, he along with his family established Marathe Milk Products with an investment of just ₹ 1,000. He started making doodh peda and chocolate burfi using authentic recipes in his house. Initially, there were no machines or electrical power but despite all odds, Marathe continued to manufacture products of the highest standards. For him, quality was not an act, it was a habit. Very soon, his business grew as more and more people thronged this famous little store. He handled the entire operations single-handedly and, in 1998, due to growing demand bought a milk processor all the way from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He realised that this mechanization helped him utilise time and production in a much better way.
Today, the brand has a dedicated workforce and custom-made machines of international standards. It produces 500 kg of sweets every day. In spite of becoming a big name in the food industry, it continues to maintain highest standards of hygiene and consistent product quality.
Apart from their famous doodh peda, they make Dharwad peda, chocolate burfi, Mysore pak, coconut burfi, kaju burfi, pista burfi, banana chips, coconut holige (puran poli made with coconut as well as jaggery), channa dal holige, and dates holige. Each item offers authentic taste with absolutely no artificial flavour or colour. They are hygienically processed and packed. Buy the sweets online and relish their mouth-watering taste with your loved ones. They make every occasion extra special.
