Jodhpur Sweets was conceptualised by Kundan Lalji 50 years ago. He was a man full of enthusiasm, with a deep knowledge of the art of making traditional mithai. The shop was born in 1965 out of his deep desire to offer people authentic flavours of the land. Though Lalji himself belonged to Jodhpur and named his sweet shop after it, he began his business venture in Kota. His offerings made him famous and people fondly started calling him Sethji.

More than 25 years later, it was his grandson Suresh Vyas who actually brought home the gastronomic legacy of Lalji and headquartered the business in Jodhpur itself. The upward climb of the sweet shop has continued through pure grit and dedication and it is today one of the most respected confectionaries in the city with a high-profile clientele.

Currently owned by Sureshji’s son Mehul Vyas, the enterprise has expanded its product range beyond the initial offerings of traditional sweets. Yet they continue to focus on manual preparationof products, with packaging being carried out mechanically.

Its deliciously melt-in-the-mouth texture and rosy sweetness make it one of the most appreciated sweets in Indian cuisine. An all-time favourite product from the brand, it has a brown layer of rose-petal preserve sandwiched between a beige cashew layer and a silver coating.
