About Fashion Grassroot, Ahmedabad
The golden touch for art and craft
Fashion Grassroot was established in 2006 by Madan Chand Jain, but it was his daughter, R Jain, who gave the Ahmedabad-based enterprise a new identity with her golden touch. The Delhi-born artist showed her creative streak early on when she started dabbling with colours, paints, and ideas as a child. An M.Com from Ahmedabad, she designed corporate gifts for offices in Mumbai during her graduation days. She began her artistic journey with clocks and paintings and soon expanded her body of work to include innovative handicrafts and murals.
Fashion Grassroot is greatly involved with women’s empowerment. It trains women –slum dwellers and victims of social ills – in handicrafts so they can earn their livelihoods. This noble cause is today the driving force of the company, which has certification from Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts.
Fashion Grassroot is popular for its paintings, sculptures, frames, pots, bells, masks, wind chimes, pen stands, visiting-card holders, lamps, nameplates, and murals. A specialist in corporate and custom gifts, the company also exports its works to many regions, including US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
